BrainRot: Stop Phone Addiction

BrainRot does not require an account and does not transmit your personal data to us or to any third party. Everything the app works with stays on your device:

• Focus session data — start/end times and durations, stored locally.
• App usage data — read locally (with your permission) to show screen-time stats and enforce app blocking during focus sessions. Never uploaded.
• Settings and preferences — timer settings, blocked-app list, and AOD quote style, stored locally.

Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of it.

No personal data leaves your device

Since no personal information is transmitted to us, we do not use, process, sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties for any purpose — including advertising, analytics, or profiling.

BrainRot requests certain sensitive Android permissions to power its core focus features. Each is used only for the purpose below, and processed entirely on-device:

• Usage Access — reads which apps you use and for how long, to show screen-time stats and enforce app blocking during a focus session.
• Device Admin — locks your screen during an active focus session. Revocable anytime in Android Settings.
• Display Over Other Apps — shows a blocking overlay when you try to open a distracting app mid-session.
• Notifications — shows ongoing session status and reminders.
• Foreground Service — keeps the focus timer running reliably in the background.
• Ignore Battery Optimizations — prevents Android from killing the timer mid-session.
• Receive Boot Completed — resumes a scheduled session correctly after a device restart.
• Vibrate — haptic feedback on session start/end.

You can review or revoke any of these permissions at any time from your device's Settings app.

All permissions processed on-device only

BrainRot does not integrate any advertising network, analytics SDK, or data-sharing third-party service that collects your personal information. There are no in-app purchases or payment processors in this app. If this changes in a future update, we will update this policy before the change takes effect and, where required, ask for your consent.

No ads, no analytics, no data sharing

All data BrainRot creates — focus session history, usage statistics it reads, and your settings — is stored locally on your device using a local database. We do not operate a backend server that receives this information, so there is no remote copy of your data for us to retain, lose, or share. You can clear it at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data via your device settings.

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us immediately. This app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Since no personal data is collected or stored by us, there is no personal data to access, correct, export, or delete from our systems. You may uninstall the app at any time to remove all locally stored app data from your device. Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and other regions with data protection laws retain all rights afforded to them under applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
